My inner sense

I wrote my last post in Oct 2007. Now we are in the fag end of 2008. I am quite surprised to note that I have not posted even one single article in 2008. I asked myself Why? Pat came the reply from my sub sense I never experienced life in 2008.

Is that true? I asked my prime sense. My prime sense asked me to list down top 5 memories of 2008. I started listing down my memories...

1. Establishing a team
2. Setting up process for new campus operations
3. Achieved major savings for the organization. Lot of new initiatives.
4. My speech in FM Conferences
5. An incident in my office

and off course the latest Mumbai attack.

My inner sense was laughing at me. I got irritated and asked why you are laughing at me?!!! Before even the inner sense gave me a reply, I realized my self , out of the top five memories not even one memory reflect or relate something to my personal life.

I am always told I am very emotional, I value relationships and very attached to all the family members. Yes I too have agreed with them. But over the last few years (may be 5 years), I felt I have changed a lot. Though this period was a crucial part of my career growth, I have always asked a question to myself , am I forgetting my family and my close circle? I always ask a question to myself , why didn't I remember my parents, my brothers, my sisters , my brother in laws and my sister in laws, my uncle , my aunt even once a while in a period of one week or some time to one month or more than one month? Am I the only person facing this difficulty? I don't know.

My inner circle of bonding / feeling moved away from humans to gadgets. I spend more time with my mobile, my black berry and my laptop. I tried to add one more list to my gadgets that is an Ipod. But some how or other I am not able to listen to that . My laptop became my parents, mobile became my wife and blackberry became my kid and my ipod has become my relative. Yes very true . I have started living with non living things and by that I am also now getting stamped as a " non living thing" . The same world who said I am a more family bonded person and an emotional human being is asking me a question of are you a "being?"!!!

I told my inner sense, don't think that I am a non living creature. I will not forget 2008 as it is a special year for me and my family.

I put my son Aniruudh into Cricket Coaching. (my childhood dream) I gifted him with a full cricket kit and felt as if it was a gift from my father to me. More than my son, I enjoyed that gift . I took him to the ground for his first match played at the ground. I enjoyed his happiness.

My daugher Mathangge's "Salangai" puja . It was special. I realized that day how much effort my wife Krithika and her master has put in shaping her up in dancing. I was watching with awe her various steps. An artist in the making.

I celebrated my 11th wedding Anniversary at Ooty, and went into a memory rewind by staying in the same hotel where I stayed for my honeymoon. For the first time I enjoyed the mountain rail. I was enjoying the nature at its best.

I told my inner sense , I can say more things but i will keep it to my heart and refresh myself whenever I need energy. I told my innersense that though I wear different masks at different place, I will never loose my originality.

Thank you my inner sense, before people totally discard me as an obsolete or scrap item , let me start relating things with the human world again .

But all I need is a promise from you to provide me a human world with full of true love, bonding, brother hood, peace, and patriotic statesmen. You can take your time but I request you not to take too much time , other wise the rest of the world will follow me......

With luv,

Gods - Remain as you are please.......

Foreword : This article is not intended to hurt any one but to salute Gods(ideal doctors) who has saved many lifes and are continuing to do the same.

I still remeber my early days in my native place , where people used to see Doctors as "Gods" and literally workship them. When a person is seriously ill and when taken to a hospital , the relatives or freinds of the patient when they see the doctor , first what they say is , " Sir, you are God to us, please save the life."

Doctor profession had a great respect in this country as there was a huge gap on the demand and supply. Today to a great extent this gap is slowly getting reduced with lot of small clinics to multi speciality hospitals coming up in different parts of the country.

India is also fast becoming the preferred destination for major medical treatment and the Government is saying India's medical tourism is fast picking up.

While such rapid growth and developing is happening on one side, the recent reports are really disturbing.

News of a Doctor couple allegedly allowing their son to perform a surgery , a doctor leaving a scissor inside a patients body after performing a open heart by pass surgery, a doctor gaving anesthisia to a patient and left for four hours and another doctor was forced to perform the surgery, a doctor allegedly involved in a kidne racket , so on and on..

I still remember my personal case. While I was in Delhi , when I fell ill and went for a treatment with a decent hospital in a posh area of New Delhi(Company tie up), I had to face the wrath of commercialy savy Gods. Though they could see very clearly through the chest xray what is there on my lungs, still they preferred to go for a ultrascan. But the unfortunate thing was the so called God was not able to get into the right spot inspite of having the modern gadgets. There was another God attending on me , while injecting me was asking , what happened to my payment? The payment he was referring was due from the company for medical tests for the new joinees. When my wife Krithika fell while opening a door for the guests to come in, I took her to the same hospital. The God without seeing the hand of my wife , prescribed an xray and when the Xray was taken and shown it to the God , the God was saying perfect and nothing to worry , little realising that the Xray was done at the wrong hand.

I was told by mother she never went to hospital to deliver four of her kids. I am the fortunate (very fortunate to have born to my most loving and respected partents) kid to have born under a God's care. ( In a clinic). Yes the God was none other than Dr. Prince Vedaraj , whom my entire family have a great regard. If my mother is what she is today, its all because of this God , who saved her two hands which she almost lost due to a severe fungal infection. If my mother is Annalakshmi , it is because of this God , Dr. Prince Vedaraj.

Whenever some one in our family is down and when we pray to our God , he was at our door step to take care of us. God always comes to the rescue of his beloved . But today what is happening? You need to take an appointment even while you are running 104 degrees. Today God will not come to your rescue. You need to wait for his blessings. Even if you get to meet him , you don't know whether you are on safe hands.

God , we love you so much , we respect you so much . Please don't change even though the world is changing. If you change , then we know we are at the fag end of this universe. Please give us more and more of Dr. Prince Vedarajes.

NO MORE OLD AGE HOMES?

A welcome judgement by the apex court of India underlining the value of relationship. I am sure this judgement may help people think twice before sending their parents to old age home or totally discarding them.

I salute the honourable judges for a landmark judgement.

Twenty Twenty...

I read an SMS sent by my nephew a couple of days back on India winning the T20 World Cup. It read " Dr. Abdul Kalam's wish fullfilled. India is a super power in 2020". I really enjoyed this SMS for a while and then my thoughts started rolling.

My first thought:
To me, Abdul Kalam is a visionary man. He has created such a positive vibration in the minds of people and when I saw this SMS , first I also laughed at it as a good joke. But what is the reality? When no one talked about India becoming super power say a decade ago, have now started believing in India becoming a super power. I would strongly say Abdul Kalam has succeeded in his mission as he has injected his dream into every Indians and I received this SMS from my nephew who is an youth in his 20's. As long as the Indian youth starts beleiving in things and remembers what their forefathers or their role model has said , I am sure India will honour the dream of Dr. APJ.

My second thought:

Dhoni - He has created a name for himself and to me he has acheived some thing in his life and has not only made his parents proud and also has made the country feel proud of his acheivement. If you go through my article " Does poverty an hindrance for people to succeed in life?" , again the answer is " No". Dhoni coming from a village and not from a " well to do" family has come a long way in his life and carreer. Again I would say, it is Dhoni's will power and self confidence and more than anything else he is a self believer. If one starts beleiving himself no one can stop him in his road to success. Also people talked much about his leadership skills. This is a very important aspect and need of the hour. As a country we lack leadership skills on many front. Be it a corporate, be it a government, be it sprituality , if you don't have the right leadership then everything gets jeopardized and the system gets collapsed. Unfortunately in today's world we have very few leaders whom you can name or the numbers of the leaders can be counted. Leaders are those who lead by example , takes the team along with him and create the next generation leaders". Unfortunately in today's scenario , people only want to lead and not take ownership and are very selfish. Leader is a one who has to take failure and success in his stride and also need to be on his ground when he tastes the success and should not go into an huddle when he losses. What we see today is , if a team succeeds, the leader wants to take the credit and if the team losses , the blame is put on the team. I read an article about APJ's say on leadership. He shared one of his experience in that. When APJ was associated with ISRO , India has launched one satellite. It was APJ who was suppose to address the press conference immediately after the launch. Unfortunately the mission failed and APJ was wondering how to face the press. It was his boss at that time has told he will handle the press and took the entire onus on him for the failure. On the launch next time when the mission succeeded he has allowed APJ to address the press. So APJ writers, " A true leader is one who takes the failure on himself when the team fails and project the team when the team succeeds". Dhoni did the same thing when we won the cup. He is yet to face any failure as a leader and a true quality of him will speak when he tastes that ,but I wish he doesn't have to...

My third thought :

On the return of our heroes from South Africa , a newspaper writes that the synergy of the public they saw was much more than a victory on Kargil. When the people assembled on the road to greet their heroes, they never thought of who is who in the team. They never thought which religion or caste the players belongs to . They never thought which state has dominated the team. They all felt it is " Team India" and all the public who assembled on that day reciprocated that we are all " Indians".

My only wish is , India should win such major tournaments, be it hockey, tennis, cricket, foot ball, athletics as these heroes like Sania, Leander, Dhoni, Prabhat Tirkey,Butia , will only be able to keep us going us and build a strong integrated India , than our politicians or spritual leaders..

Please share your thoughts....

Does poverty hinder people to succeed in life?

I have asked this questions many a time to myself and my conscience has always given me an answer as " No".

I strongly believe , if a person has will power and self confidence and want to make a mark for himself / herself in this world , will create history and make their parents proud.

In Tamil , there is a say " Eendra Pozhuthinum perithuvakkum than makanai saandron ena ketta thai" . The meaning of this is , A mother feels extreemly proud and happy when she hears about her son's acheivement by others, than at the time of delivering him.

One day when I was watching a talk show in one of the channel , I was stunned to see an acheivement of a girl who doesn't have her two hands, but has cleared her public exam in flying colours. She got some where around 400 out of 500. She writes with her legs, she eats with her legs and with the same leg she walks. My conscience asked me to get up and I stood up from my chair and I saluted her (though she couldn't see me) . She comes from a very poor family.

In the last year public exams in the state of Tamil Nadu, a boy who's mother is a servant maid , works on part time in delivering papers to the house hold in the morning, came first in the state. The boy who was delivering the news to the household , himself became a News item by becoming a true hero for the younger generation.

Again a Security Guard's son came top in flying colours in the state board .

So my conscience is always right and so as your conscience will say so while you go through this news item given below.

Ahmedabad's food Bizkid all set to enter Chennai

Having taken India Inc by surprise in a rather trodden path of food catering after an MBA from IIM-Ahm- edabad, E Sarath Babu, the boy from a Chennai slum is planning to estab- lish a chain of institutional cafeterias in the City. ‘Yes, the talks are on, though I am yet to finalise the finer details,'' E Sharth Babu, CEO of the Ahmedabad's Foodking, told Express. At present, he is running a successful catering service in Ahme- dabad, Goa, and Pilani. ‘‘I am a South Indian and I thought If I start the service in Chennai first, it would end up being branded a Southie com- pany. Now having estab- lished a chain successfully in North, it's high time I started the one in Chennai.'' At 29, this BITS Pilani Chemical Engineering graduate's turnover may not enthuse you, that's just Rs 1.2 lakh a day. But you would wonder to know that he refused many cool offers that was extended to an IIM-A graduate to establish a greasy industry sans glamour. His proud moth- er Deepa Ramani used to sell idlis from her Madippakkam slum home to raise up the fami- ly till recently. Babu was in Chennai to participate in a seminar on celebrating Indian Entrepreneurship organ- ised jointly by the Swadeshi Jagran Manch and the Meenakshi School of Management.

Hope you agree with me now...

A rare phenomenon

Thanks to God , we the Indians had a rarest of rare opportunity in this Century by seeing our country's First Citizen as Dr. A.P.J Apdul Kalam who not only brought fame and respect to the President's chair , also made the whole country proud.

Dr. A P J ensured that during his five year term , he ensured that he instilled and injected dreams in every indian citizen of India becoming " Super Power " through his Vision " India 2020 . Where you oddly see people with Vision , Leadership and Passion to make the people united and stronger , Dr. A.P. J stood different and he not only had all this nutrients, he had a major strength in him , that was his "Simplicity".

When Dr. A P J's tenure ends in the next couple of months , no doubt he is going to leave a huge vaccum to our fellow country men.

I am not sure on how long we the Indians have to wait to see a another phenomenon adore our President's post , but as a strong admirer and follower of Dr. A. P. J, I dream that to happen at the earliest.

Sir, We salute you on all your acheivements and leading us through the last five years as the First Citizen of India. We request you to kindly continue to talk about your vision of India 2020 as we Indians have the habbit of forgetfulness. Sir, kindly meet school childrens and youngsters during your rest of your life and keep on injecting your dream as they only will carry your dreams and vision and will make that possible.

Sir , we will miss you very badly as the First Citizen of India , but the history of India will always say that you are the " Best Citizen" that Mother India gave to her fellow countrymen.

We wish you all the very best and we pray to God for your long and healthy life and we wish India become super power when you are with us.

Regards

Waiting to die...

I read an article in one of the leading national daily a couple of days before and it really distracted me.

The article talks about a house / apartment available for old age people who are on their last legs and want to attain mukthi by passing away at the banks of river ganges. By doing this they belive there is no re birth for them. Seems there is no charges if the person is a poor. This is being carried out by some individuals as a social activity.

Though there is a say by Kannadasan in one of his poem / song " Vandatu Therium, Povathu Engay, Vasal namakke theriyathu, Vandavar ellam thangi vittal , inda bhoomiyil namakke edam ethu? " - The crux of this lines are " We know our entry to this world , but we don't know our exit and if we all remain to stay in this mother earth, where will be the space in earth?'

But now with this facility , I feel people also want to know their exit point.

Million Dreams

I am an ardent cricket fan. During my child hood days , I used to play indoor cricket and when I was in School and college, I used to breathe cricket. After I started my career, slowly my passion towards the game faded away and now I oddly see matches.

Cricket played 3 decades ago or cricket played two decades ago is totally different from what is being played now. No media hype during those days. I could oddly remember one add featuring Kapil for " Boost is the secret of my energy". ( I think Kapil has not shared his secret probably to our current Indian Team!!!) I oddly came across hearing of a bowling coach, batting coach, fielding coach or a technical analyst or a physio. Now you hear all these.

Our Indian team, carried with them millions of dreams from their fellow countrymen. But what happened to their dreams? Everybody feels dejected and agitated now.

Who has to be blamed for this? Only we! We the public are expecting too much from our guys. Our expectation levels are too high. I lost my love for the game when I first heared of betting in cricket. Today we are not sure what is happening in the cricketing world and already news are floating in different directions on Bob Wolmers death. Cricket once called as a "Gentle Man" game , now losing its status of being called as a "Gentle Man" game. The so called "Gentle Man" game has lost a "Gentle Man by name Bob Wolmer" for the game and by the game. People also attribute Hansie Cronje's death to betting related issues.

Let those of us who live in this generation , realise that we are all wasting our energy and time on this game which is now no way played for its passion , but just for building ones own empire. (If we don't put a stop to this, you will soon hear the individual players declaring their quarterly results !!!) Lets not put our kids into this game and rather make them in to other field games or in athletics and lets now move away from our dream of India winning the world cup to India winning medals at Olympics.

Let's look for more of Sania, Vishwanathan Anand and Rathore, in our country rather than looking for the likes of Sachin, Dhoni and Shewag.

Let's dream of India emerging as a front runner in the field of Athletical Sports and lets stop dreaming of any more on our cricket heros.

To dream is important , but let us dream which is "important" to one's life.

Let's converge and dream on our honourable president vision of "India 2020" rather than wasting our time and dreams on India playing a "20 20" match.

Let's start valuing our dreams.

"Know yourself and you will know the world"

Dear friend,"Know yourself and you will know the world" said Socrates. Please find below an interesting article,"A dialogue between GOD and MAN". -------------------------
GOD : Hello. Did you call me?
MAN : Called you? No... who is this?
GOD : This is GOD. I heard your prayers. So I thought I will talk.
MAN : I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I am in a meeting.
GOD : What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.
MAN : Don't know. But I can't find free time. Life has become hectic. It's rush hour all the time.
GOD : Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.
MAN : I understand. But I still can't figure out. By the way, I was not expecting YOU to talk to me instantly.
GOD : Well I wanted to resolve your fight for time, by giving you some clarity.
MAN : Tell me, why has life become complicated now?
GOD : Stop analysing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.
MAN : why are we then constantly unhappy?
GOD : Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are analysing. Worrying has become your habit. That's why you are not happy.
MAN : But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?
GOD : Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.
MAN : But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty..
GOD : Pain is inevitable able, but suffering is optional.
MAN : If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?
GOD : Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don't suffer. With that experience their life become better not bitter.
MAN : You mean to say such experience is useful?
GOD : Yes. In every terms, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.
MAN : But still, why should we go through such tests? Why cant we be free from problems?.
GOD : P R O B L E M S are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to)Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.
MAN : Frankly in the midst of so many problems,I don't know where I am heading..
GOD : If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.
MAN : Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?
GOD : Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.
MAN : In tough times, how do you stay motivated?
GOD : Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.
MAN : What surprises you about people?
GOD : when they suffer they ask, "why me?" When they prosper, they never ask "Why me" Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth.
MAN : Sometimes I ask, who am I?, why am I here?. I can't get the answer.
GOD : Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.
MAN : How can I get the best out of life?
GOD : Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.
MAN : One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.
GOD : There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.
MAN : Thank you for this wonderful talk.
GOD : Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don't believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve.Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that took our breath away!"
