Gods - Remain as you are please.......

Foreword : This article is not intended to hurt any one but to salute Gods(ideal doctors) who has saved many lifes and are continuing to do the same.

I still remeber my early days in my native place , where people used to see Doctors as "Gods" and literally workship them. When a person is seriously ill and when taken to a hospital , the relatives or freinds of the patient when they see the doctor , first what they say is , " Sir, you are God to us, please save the life."

Doctor profession had a great respect in this country as there was a huge gap on the demand and supply. Today to a great extent this gap is slowly getting reduced with lot of small clinics to multi speciality hospitals coming up in different parts of the country.

India is also fast becoming the preferred destination for major medical treatment and the Government is saying India's medical tourism is fast picking up.

While such rapid growth and developing is happening on one side, the recent reports are really disturbing.

News of a Doctor couple allegedly allowing their son to perform a surgery , a doctor leaving a scissor inside a patients body after performing a open heart by pass surgery, a doctor gaving anesthisia to a patient and left for four hours and another doctor was forced to perform the surgery, a doctor allegedly involved in a kidne racket , so on and on..

I still remember my personal case. While I was in Delhi , when I fell ill and went for a treatment with a decent hospital in a posh area of New Delhi(Company tie up), I had to face the wrath of commercialy savy Gods. Though they could see very clearly through the chest xray what is there on my lungs, still they preferred to go for a ultrascan. But the unfortunate thing was the so called God was not able to get into the right spot inspite of having the modern gadgets. There was another God attending on me , while injecting me was asking , what happened to my payment? The payment he was referring was due from the company for medical tests for the new joinees. When my wife Krithika fell while opening a door for the guests to come in, I took her to the same hospital. The God without seeing the hand of my wife , prescribed an xray and when the Xray was taken and shown it to the God , the God was saying perfect and nothing to worry , little realising that the Xray was done at the wrong hand.

I was told by mother she never went to hospital to deliver four of her kids. I am the fortunate (very fortunate to have born to my most loving and respected partents) kid to have born under a God's care. ( In a clinic). Yes the God was none other than Dr. Prince Vedaraj , whom my entire family have a great regard. If my mother is what she is today, its all because of this God , who saved her two hands which she almost lost due to a severe fungal infection. If my mother is Annalakshmi , it is because of this God , Dr. Prince Vedaraj.

Whenever some one in our family is down and when we pray to our God , he was at our door step to take care of us. God always comes to the rescue of his beloved . But today what is happening? You need to take an appointment even while you are running 104 degrees. Today God will not come to your rescue. You need to wait for his blessings. Even if you get to meet him , you don't know whether you are on safe hands.

God , we love you so much , we respect you so much . Please don't change even though the world is changing. If you change , then we know we are at the fag end of this universe. Please give us more and more of Dr. Prince Vedarajes.

NO MORE OLD AGE HOMES?

A welcome judgement by the apex court of India underlining the value of relationship. I am sure this judgement may help people think twice before sending their parents to old age home or totally discarding them.

I salute the honourable judges for a landmark judgement.

Twenty Twenty...

I read an SMS sent by my nephew a couple of days back on India winning the T20 World Cup. It read " Dr. Abdul Kalam's wish fullfilled. India is a super power in 2020". I really enjoyed this SMS for a while and then my thoughts started rolling.

My first thought:
To me, Abdul Kalam is a visionary man. He has created such a positive vibration in the minds of people and when I saw this SMS , first I also laughed at it as a good joke. But what is the reality? When no one talked about India becoming super power say a decade ago, have now started believing in India becoming a super power. I would strongly say Abdul Kalam has succeeded in his mission as he has injected his dream into every Indians and I received this SMS from my nephew who is an youth in his 20's. As long as the Indian youth starts beleiving in things and remembers what their forefathers or their role model has said , I am sure India will honour the dream of Dr. APJ.

My second thought:

Dhoni - He has created a name for himself and to me he has acheived some thing in his life and has not only made his parents proud and also has made the country feel proud of his acheivement. If you go through my article " Does poverty an hindrance for people to succeed in life?" , again the answer is " No". Dhoni coming from a village and not from a " well to do" family has come a long way in his life and carreer. Again I would say, it is Dhoni's will power and self confidence and more than anything else he is a self believer. If one starts beleiving himself no one can stop him in his road to success. Also people talked much about his leadership skills. This is a very important aspect and need of the hour. As a country we lack leadership skills on many front. Be it a corporate, be it a government, be it sprituality , if you don't have the right leadership then everything gets jeopardized and the system gets collapsed. Unfortunately in today's world we have very few leaders whom you can name or the numbers of the leaders can be counted. Leaders are those who lead by example , takes the team along with him and create the next generation leaders". Unfortunately in today's scenario , people only want to lead and not take ownership and are very selfish. Leader is a one who has to take failure and success in his stride and also need to be on his ground when he tastes the success and should not go into an huddle when he losses. What we see today is , if a team succeeds, the leader wants to take the credit and if the team losses , the blame is put on the team. I read an article about APJ's say on leadership. He shared one of his experience in that. When APJ was associated with ISRO , India has launched one satellite. It was APJ who was suppose to address the press conference immediately after the launch. Unfortunately the mission failed and APJ was wondering how to face the press. It was his boss at that time has told he will handle the press and took the entire onus on him for the failure. On the launch next time when the mission succeeded he has allowed APJ to address the press. So APJ writers, " A true leader is one who takes the failure on himself when the team fails and project the team when the team succeeds". Dhoni did the same thing when we won the cup. He is yet to face any failure as a leader and a true quality of him will speak when he tastes that ,but I wish he doesn't have to...

My third thought :

On the return of our heroes from South Africa , a newspaper writes that the synergy of the public they saw was much more than a victory on Kargil. When the people assembled on the road to greet their heroes, they never thought of who is who in the team. They never thought which religion or caste the players belongs to . They never thought which state has dominated the team. They all felt it is " Team India" and all the public who assembled on that day reciprocated that we are all " Indians".

My only wish is , India should win such major tournaments, be it hockey, tennis, cricket, foot ball, athletics as these heroes like Sania, Leander, Dhoni, Prabhat Tirkey,Butia , will only be able to keep us going us and build a strong integrated India , than our politicians or spritual leaders..

Please share your thoughts....

Does poverty hinder people to succeed in life?

I have asked this questions many a time to myself and my conscience has always given me an answer as " No".

I strongly believe , if a person has will power and self confidence and want to make a mark for himself / herself in this world , will create history and make their parents proud.

In Tamil , there is a say " Eendra Pozhuthinum perithuvakkum than makanai saandron ena ketta thai" . The meaning of this is , A mother feels extreemly proud and happy when she hears about her son's acheivement by others, than at the time of delivering him.

One day when I was watching a talk show in one of the channel , I was stunned to see an acheivement of a girl who doesn't have her two hands, but has cleared her public exam in flying colours. She got some where around 400 out of 500. She writes with her legs, she eats with her legs and with the same leg she walks. My conscience asked me to get up and I stood up from my chair and I saluted her (though she couldn't see me) . She comes from a very poor family.

In the last year public exams in the state of Tamil Nadu, a boy who's mother is a servant maid , works on part time in delivering papers to the house hold in the morning, came first in the state. The boy who was delivering the news to the household , himself became a News item by becoming a true hero for the younger generation.

Again a Security Guard's son came top in flying colours in the state board .

So my conscience is always right and so as your conscience will say so while you go through this news item given below.

Ahmedabad's food Bizkid all set to enter Chennai

Having taken India Inc by surprise in a rather trodden path of food catering after an MBA from IIM-Ahm- edabad, E Sarath Babu, the boy from a Chennai slum is planning to estab- lish a chain of institutional cafeterias in the City. ‘Yes, the talks are on, though I am yet to finalise the finer details,'' E Sharth Babu, CEO of the Ahmedabad's Foodking, told Express. At present, he is running a successful catering service in Ahme- dabad, Goa, and Pilani. ‘‘I am a South Indian and I thought If I start the service in Chennai first, it would end up being branded a Southie com- pany. Now having estab- lished a chain successfully in North, it's high time I started the one in Chennai.'' At 29, this BITS Pilani Chemical Engineering graduate's turnover may not enthuse you, that's just Rs 1.2 lakh a day. But you would wonder to know that he refused many cool offers that was extended to an IIM-A graduate to establish a greasy industry sans glamour. His proud moth- er Deepa Ramani used to sell idlis from her Madippakkam slum home to raise up the fami- ly till recently. Babu was in Chennai to participate in a seminar on celebrating Indian Entrepreneurship organ- ised jointly by the Swadeshi Jagran Manch and the Meenakshi School of Management.

Hope you agree with me now...
